You are very welcome to Worthy of Wellbeing. If you are reading this then you are here because you want to experience the magic that is Reiki and Mindfulness. You are here because you're tired of not having that time for yourself, that time to relax and let go from a place where you feel safe and understood. We go by in life thinking the cards we've been dealt are for keeps, that we have to put others first all the time and that it's selfish if you say no to others and put personal boundaries in place. I am here to tell you that in order for you to give to others, you need to give to yourself first. The quote I always say "You can't pour from an empty cup" is spot on. Until you begin to look after yourself, start treating yourself with love, compassion, forgiveness and empathy, you won't be able to truly help others and others will never treat you the way you deserve to be treated.
My Story
I was always someone who struggled with my mental health growing up. I felt the shame, the anxiety, the fear, and everything that came along with it. I did what I thought was best and I stayed quiet, told nobody and just carried on with the life I thought I deserved, the cards I thought I was dealt.
In 2019, I had a severe mental health breakdown and this is when my personal development journey really began. I wanted to find something that could help me relax, let go and that I could turn to when I needed it. I began to practice Mindfulness after seeing a CBT therapist and it changed my life completely. I began to see the environment around me in a completely different light. I could see how beautiful my neighbourhood was. I began to tap into how I was feeling both physically and mentally, because I was starting to feel more present which is what Mindfulness helps you with. In my opinion, this is where I started living because up until then, I always felt like
I was just getting by in life.
As Oscar Wilde once said " To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist" I was in such a dark place that very little sunshine was able to come through. This is where I knew I had to learn more about Mindfulness and began to train as a practitioner both with adults and children. I have helped so many women and children start to live life in a more present, accepting and loving place and it makes my heart so full.
Before I looked into alternative therapies, Reiki seemed to pop up all the time so I thought "why not have a session". That session allowed me to drift into such a relaxed state that my whole body was completely relaxed and any tension I held had drifted away. I released emotions that I had held in and the next few days after, I felt like something had shifted within me. After that, I knew I wanted to learn more about this beautiful therapy so I began training in it and 2 years later here I am as a Reiki Master helping many women both online and in person feel as relaxed, rebalanced and rejuvenated as I did and still feel when I experience Reiki.
And there you have it, the much shorter version of how it all began. My journey is on going and my mission for women and children is that you can be exactly who you want to be. You can start to show kindness, love and compassion towards yourself and with my help, I will remind you just how amazing you truly are and how deserving you are of a more Relaxed, Rebalanced and Rejuvenating life.
